Robert comes to Sego Canada with a wealth of experience, having served in the industry for over 38 years. He has been responsible for the repairs and maintenance of plants in all sectors of the industry. Robert has experience dealing with all types of pumps, water softeners, conditioners, wastewater equipment, and pollution control equipment. He has also been involved in plant design, construction, start-up, and developing policy and procedures for safe operations. Robert has a very strong work ethic, with a strong emphasis on safety. He has chaired or co-chaired the occupational safety committees for several companies. His experience also includes being a Director on the Alberta Dairy Council, and with the Canadian Institute of Management.

A note from our founder:
The Story of Sego Canada
SEGO was derived from two men that had a vision of being in the water system business as a wholesaler.
“SE” came from Dave Sebastian’s last name and “GO” came from Paul Goulet’s last name. At the time we thought it was a catchy name that was easy to remember and not the normal company type name in this business.
Unfortunately, Paul did not enter the business for several personal reasons. Funds to register the business name and locate a warehouse in Calgary were expensed, so I went forward with this business plan in 1975. Things seemed to work out well with a lot of hard work and many previous customer acquaintances. The very first order of 10 Cornell sewage sump pumps, came from Smiley’s Pump Service in 1975 and so the rest is history.
My whole business working life has been with pumping technologies. From 1969 working with a small Calgary satellite office handling Pleuger Pumps to being the industrial sales manager of Electric Power & Equipment, before setting up Sego Industries Inc. It’s been quite a journey, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything else in a working type of career.
